Online resale platform ThredUp announced the appointment of Florin Filote as the company’s general manager of Europe. With nearly two decades of experience in retail and e-commerce with an emphasis on building and scaling marketplace businesses, Filote will oversee the company’s European business operations, which currently span nine countries in Central and Eastern Europe.

He succeeds Dan DeMeyere, who has been with ThredUp since 2010 and most recently ran the company’s international business for two years. DeMeyere is transitioning back to the U.S. business as chief product and technology officer to scale technology and artificial intelligence innovation. 

Beyond Inc.

Overstock owner Beyond Inc. announced the addition and appointment of several key leaders to its team. 

Guncha Mehta joins as chief digital and information officer. Stacey Shively joins as chief merchandising officer for Bed Bath & Beyond. Angela Minor joins as chief marketing officer for Bed Bath & Beyond. Deb Bollom was appointed as chief merchandising officer for Overstock. Steph Whitacre was appointed to SVP GM for Zulily. Jennifer Evans was appointed to senior vice president of marketing for Beyond Inc. Alexis Callahan joins as vice president of investor relations and public relations. Chris Peake joins as director of merchandising for Zulily.

Wolverine Worldwide announced that Dave Latchana has been appointed chief legal officer and corporate secretary, with oversight of the company’s legal, compliance, corporate communications, risk management, ESG and security and loss prevention functions.

Latchana has been at Wolverine Worldwide for nearly 16 years, joining the company in 2008 as corporate counsel. He then served as associate general counsel and assistant secretary, working closely with the company’s management team and board of directors. Latchana next spent three years as vice president of executive compensation, global benefits and corporate communications from 2021 to 2024, and since January, has been interim general counsel.

Children’s apparel brand Hanna Andersson announced that Grace Wong, a former marketing executive for Apple’s Beats by Dr. Dre and the Gap, has joined the company as chief brand officer.

Reporting to CEO Aimée Lapic, Wong brings over 20 years of strategic brand-building experience to the marketing team. In her new role leading brand marketing, she will develop strategies that scale the brand and the business. Wong will lead the creative development of all brand and product assets, producing impactful storytelling across the brand’s ecosystem, from strategic ideation to content creation for key initiatives in support of the brand vision.

Brand management firm Authentic Brands Group announced the appointment of Bruno Pedroso de Almeida as vice president, head of Brazil. In his new role, Pedroso de Almeida will spearhead and drive the execution of the brand’s go-to-market strategies throughout the region, accelerating growth and expanding Authentic’s footprint in Brazil.

Pedroso de Almeida brings a wealth of experience in brand development and distribution, with an impressive track record spanning more than 20 years. Prior to joining Authentic, he held key leadership roles, most recently at VF Central and South America, where he played a key role in devising and executing strategic distribution partnerships that enhanced the company’s presence across various markets and channels.

Kontoor Brands

Global lifestyle apparel company Kontoor Brands announced it has elevated Jenni Broyles to executive vice president, global brands president, Wrangler and Lee. She also joined the executive leadership team. Broyles has been with Kontoor since 2018, most recently serving as Wrangler’s senior vice president.

Global contract logistics player DHL Supply Chain announced that Patrick Kelleher, current global chief development officer,  will assume the role of CEO in North America as of July 1. Kelleher succeeds Scott Sureddin, who will retire on Dec. 31 after more than 30 years with the group.  

Markus Voss, current global chief information officer and chief operations officer, will take over as chief development officer. Sally Miller, current chief information officer for North America and global digital transformation officer, will become global chief information officer. Mauricio Barros, senior vice president of global operations, will take on the role of global chief operations officer.

The National Council of Textile Organizations (NCTO), a Washington, DC-based trade association that represents domestic textile manufacturers, elected Charles Heilig, president of Parkdale Mills, as chairman, and Chuck Hall, president and CEO of Barnet, as vice chairman.

In addition to the appointment of a new chairman and vice chairman, NCTO elected chairs for each of its five councils. NCTO is comprised of five councils to ensure a broad representation of the industry supply chain. Each council has an allotted number of members who are elected to the association’s board of directors, in addition to the executive committee.

David Adkins of Lenzing; John Freeman of Nan Ya Plastics; and Melissa Stewart of The LYCRA Company were elected to the fiber council. Justin Ferdinand of Kentwool; Peter Iliopoulos of Gildan; Eddie Ingle of Unifi; Eric Noe of Buhler Quality Yarns; Marvin Smith of Shuford Yarns; and Jay Todd of Service Thread were elected to the yarn council. David Smith of Milliken & Company; James McKinnon of Cotswold Industries; Blake Millinor of Valdese Weavers; Leib Oehmig of Glen Raven; Dan Russian of Sage Automotive Interiors; and Walter Spiegel of Standard Textile were elected to the fabric and home products council. Marisa Fumei-South of Two-One-Two New York were elected to the finished textiltes and apparel products council, with Gabrielle Ferrara of Ferrara Manufacturing serving as an alternate. Todd Bassett of Fi-Tech; Greg Duncan of American Truetzschler; and Jim Reed of YKK Corp. were elected to the industry support council.
