Someone who bought a Cash4Life lottery ticket at a supermarket in Passaic County for Thursday's drawing won $1,000 a week for life.
The second-prize ticket, sold at ShopRite on Hamburg Turnpike in Wayne, matched five numbers but not the Cash ball, state lottery officials said Friday.
Thursday's winning numbers were 4, 15, 28, 35 and 42. The Cash Ball was 2.
If the winner chose the cash option, he or she will receive a lump sum of $1 million minus taxes. The odds of winning the second-prize with a $2 ticket are 7,282,016 to 1.
No one matched five numbers and the Cash Ball on Thursday-- the prize for doing that is $1,000-a-day for life or $7 million if a winner chooses the cash option. That's a 1 in 21,846,048 shot.
Thursday's lucky ticket comes a month after a Cash4Life ticket sold at a Salem County liquor store also matched five numbers.
Cash4Life drawings are held on Monday and Thursday. The game is played in New Jersey, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Virginia.
