A resident of Pierz is the Minnesota Lottery’s most recent Gopher 5 jackpot winner. Daniel Fiecke couldn’t believe his luck when he discovered that he’d won the prize.

Fiecke compared his ticket for the Jan. 10 drawing to the winning numbers posted on the lottery’s website and the numbers matched up, one after the other. “Something is wrong,” he recalled thinking. “I brought it back to Pojo’s Store and I saw the screen that somebody won $120,000 at the store and I thought, ‘I guess it is real.’”
