Someone bought a single winning ticket in Omaha for Monday’s Nebraska Pick 5 lottery jackpot.
The ticket, worth $140,000, matched all five numbers (8, 14, 23, 26, 37), beating odds of 1 in 658,008.
It was sold at the Hy-Vee Supermarket near 90th Street and West Center Road. The last Pick 5 winner, Joseph Cunningham of the Elkhorn area, won $200,000 in the April 12 drawing. The Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot starts at $50,000 and grows $10,000 each day there is no winner.
Holders of winning tickets have six months to claim their prize. A winning ticket from the Dec. 3, 2023, drawing worth $200,000 will expire in a few weeks, said Neil Watson, a Nebraska Lottery spokesman. It was purchased at a Kwik Shop convenience store in Falls City.
Unclaimed prize money is returned to the lottery pool.
One big jackpot did get claimed last week. Floyd and Laurie Knodel of Fremont picked up a $50,000 prize they won in the Colossal Cash scratch game.

Lotto America began in 2017 and already is played in Delaware, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee and West Virginia. Nebraska joins May 19.
