$5 million up for grabs in North Carolina after Mega Millions drawing, officials say

In fact, two winning tickets were sold for the Tuesday night Mega Millions drawing in North Carolina: one in Asheville for $1 million, and a second bought in Kernersville is worth $4 million.

The $1 million winner grabbed the $2 ticket at the Enmark Station on Tunnel Road in Asheville.
The $4 million winner purchased the $3 Megaplier ticket in Kernersville using Online Play.
Both tickets matched all five white balls to win a $1 million prize. The prize for the $3 Megaplier ticket quadrupled to $4 million when the 4X Megaplier hit.
The winning tickets are among five nationally to match all five white balls in Tuesday’s drawing, with the other wins occurring in California and Florida. The $4 million win in North Carolina ranked as the largest prize won nationally in the drawing. The odds of matching numbers on all five white balls are 1 in 12.6 million.

Since no one won Tuesday’s jackpot, the new jackpot for Friday’s drawing now sits at $228 million as an annuity, or $103.4 million in cash.
Players can buy Mega Millions tickets at any lottery retail location, through Online Play on the lottery’s website or by using the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. The odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302 million.
