The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday’s lottery drawing has climbed to an estimated $72 million, with a cash option of $34.3 million.
The winning numbers were: 15, 37, 38, 56 and 58. The Mega Ball was 19.
No one across the country hit Tuesday’s $54 million jackpot. There were also no second-prize tickets sold.
Tuesday’s winning numbers were: 10, 16, 50, 60 and 61. The Mega Ball was 17.
The odds of a $5 ticket matching all the winning numbers are 290,472,336 to 1 — previously they were more than 302 million to 1. Players have a 1 in 12,607,306 chance of a ticket matching five numbers but not the Mega Ball and winning at least $1 million. The previous odds were 12,629,232 to 1.
The odds of matching four numbers plus the Mega Ball for a prize of at least $10,000 are 893,761 to a 1, an improvement over the previous 931,001 to 1.
Mega Millions drawings are held each Tuesday and Friday in 45 states, along with Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is worth an estimated $82 million, with a cash option of $36.7 million.
