Two third-prize tickets worth $20,000 each were bought in New Jersey for Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing.
One was sold at Emperors Essentials a gift shop at Resorts on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, the New Jersey Lottery said. The other was purchased at 7-Eleven on Main Street in Belmar, Monmouth County.
Each matched four of the five numbers plus the Mega Ball.
Tuesday’s winning numbers were: 6, 10, 13, 24 and 63. The Mega Ball was 2.
No one across the country hit Tuesday’s $96 million jackpot.
Two second-prize tickets were sold at the same card store in Seaford, New York. One is valued at $2 million, and the other at $4 million, officials said.
Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is worth an estimated $112 million with a cash option of $49.3 million.
The odds of a $5 ticket winning the jackpot were previously 302 million to 1, but on April 8, one Mega Ball was eliminated from the matrix, slightly improving the odds to 290,472,336 to 1.
The odds of winning at least $1 million by matching five numbers but not the Mega Ball are now 1 in 12,607,306, an improvement from the previous odds of 12,629,232 to 1.
The odds of matching four numbers plus the Mega Ball for a prize of at least $20,000 are 893,761 to 1, an improvement over the previous 931,001 to 1.
Mega Millions drawings are held each Tuesday and Friday in 45 states, along with Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
